The winners of the first Festival of Messengers of Peace and Friendship were announced during a ceremony held at the Niavaran Cultural Center on Friday. The participants took part in two categories -- competitive and non-competitive.

Yumi Yasuda the project formulation adviser of international cooperation agency of Japan (JICA) along with Ms. Nayereh Mashayekhi the program officer of JICA were present at Messengers of Peace and Friendship headquarters and had a meeting with Mr. Behrooz Shalileh and Ms. Shirin Niazmand. In an international effort, in this meeting the generalities of Messengers of Peace and Friendship project were discussed. A one-day conference on messengers of peace and friendship was held at the Artists House in Tehran with the message by Seyed Mohammad Khatami, former president and director of Baran Institute and initiator of "Dialogue among Civilizations" idea.
